Positioned near the village of Paradeisi about 14 kilometres southwest of Rhodes town, this airport takes its honorific from Diagoras, the celebrated ancient Olympic champion of Rhodes. The current facility opened in 1977 and ranks among the busiest in Greece, surpassing 6.9 million passengers in 2024. A single runway and an expanded terminal, upgraded in 2005, handle the enormous seasonal influx of tourists.
