Named Filippos after Philip II of Macedon, this national airport sits about 4 kilometres southeast of Kozani in Western Macedonia, perched at roughly 628 metres above sea level. Operations date back to the 1950s, and today it remains one of just two public airports serving the region. Its single asphalt runway, oriented 14/32, runs approximately 1,822 metres. Sky Express provides scheduled and charter flights linking Kozani with Athens and the nearby town of Kastoria.
