Elefsina Air Base (ICAO: LGEL) is a Hellenic Air Force base at Elefsina, west of Athens in Attica. Established in its current form in 1946, it is home to the 112th Combat Wing and serves as the air force's principal transport hub, hosting VIP, tactical transport and search-and-rescue squadrons. It has a single asphalt runway (18/36) about 2,739 metres long and sits around 44 metres above sea level. The airfield played a role in the 1941 British evacuation during the Battle of Greece.
