Nicknamed Agamemnon, this dual-use airport near the village of Araxos in Achaea serves the city of Patras, Greece's third largest, as well as nearby Pyrgos. Established in 1936 with its runway finished in 1941, it shares the site with the Hellenic Air Force's 116th Combat Wing, which has flown F-16 fighters from here since the late 1960s. Its long concrete runway, designated 18R/36L, extends about 3,352 metres.
